One of Emma's favorite things to do is walk up and down our sidewalk in the rain, with her raincoat, boots & umbrella. She's had the opportunity to do this several times lately and each time as she's gone down the walk I've heard her singing, "...walking in a winter wonderland. In the meadow we will build a snowman..." This is her song for walking in the rain!
We got to visit the Easter Bunny today. Emma could hardly wait- we had to literally hold her back while he got seated after his break! She ran right up and jumped onto his lap. Nathan was a little more subdued. When we asked if he wanted to go and sit on the Easter Bunny's lap he said, "Sure." He's a good sport but probably won't be doing this too much longer. He IS almost 8-years-old after all! :)
Emma shows us how she will treat her new baby brother when he is born:
Nathan had a book in the local elementary school Literacy Fair. He was very proud of his work and we were proud of him too!
Well, it official! Emma is now sleeping in her big girl bed! And she is potty trained (going on 3 weeks)! Wow- it's been a time of much growing and changing!
We've also needed to change some things about her bedtime routine and decided to do it all at the same time. She got to listen to a CD (3 songs) at bedtime before going to sleep. She decided a few days ago that she would listen to "As the Deer" so I had to scramble to get that on CD for her. She also got a new night light.
We were a little concerned about how she would do but she did great! There was a little crying but she was asleep 15 minutes after I left her room! She woke up once during the night, just briefly and then called for us this morning at around her usual wake up time.
GREAT JOB EMMA!
Today marks one year since we lost our dear Pun'kin. We are comforted by the fact that we are 8 weeks or less from being able to hold another little one... and yet, we still feel a loss and wonder what that now five month old boy or girl would be like.
I ran across this today and thought it was neat:
- I'm just a precious little one
- Who didn't make it there:
- I went straight to be with Jesus,
- But I'm waiting for you here.
- Many dwelling here where I live
- Waited years to enter in;
- Struggled through a world of sorrow-
- A world marred with pain and sin.
- Thank you for the life you gave me,
- It was brief, but don't complain:
- I have all of Heaven's Glory'
- Suffered none of Earth's great pain.
- Thank you for the name you gave me.
- I'd have loved to bring it fame:
- But if I'd lingered in Earth's shadows-
- Would have suffered just the same.
- Don't you fret about me Mommy,
- I'm of all God's Lambs most blest;
- I would love to be there with you,
- But the Shepherd knows what's best.
- So Sweet family - don't you sorrow,
- Wipe those tears and chase the gloom;
- I went straight to Jesus' bosom -
- From my Loving Mother's womb...

I ran across this little video today from January and thought I'd share it.
